Levon "Lee" Henry plays here with a rhythm section at least twice his age. He leads the classic sax trio format with candor, creativity, and a beautiful, vintage-like sound. (Lester Young; Ben Webster; Bird; Ornette; Lovano; and even Robert Stillman are called forth at times, but never in totality: always with love and taste.) Great group interplay and exciting moments throughout. Jazz is alive and well in Levon's hands—filled with joy, respect and that X factor which cannot be edified.
